The Alice Clarke Pearl Collection
Nature’s quiet luxury, reimagined in precious metal
Alice has always been drawn to Pearls. There’s something about their quiet glow the way they feel soft but powerful, timeless but never too traditional. They hold a calm kind of magic, and for Alice, they’ve always felt like little reminders of where she’s been.
Some of the Pearls in this collection are especially close to Alice’s heart, handpicked from the shores of the Falkland Islands, where Alice lived for seven years. She would collect them while walking by the sea on Beaver Island, drawn to their imperfect shapes and soft iridescence. Each one felt like a tiny ocean worn treasure.
Crafted Slowly, Made to Hold Meaning
Back early last year in Alice’s Original Falklands Studio, She began working pearls into her designs pairing them with recycled Gold and Silver, sculpting settings inspired by the landscapes she loves. This collection grew naturally, shaped by memory and a desire to create pieces that feel truly personal.
From delicate Pearl Drops to bold sculptural forms, every piece is made to honour the natural beauty of the pearl, without hiding its story. We like to think these are the kind of jewels that don’t shout for attention but quietly become the ones you reach for, day after day.
Imperfectly Perfect
We love pearls not in spite of their irregularities, but because of them. The gentle curves, subtle texture, and soft lustre of a pearl remind us that beauty isn’t always symmetrical or polished it’s often the result of nature doing what it does best, in its own time.
In our Pearl Collection, we celebrate this individuality by choosing pearls with character ones that tell a story. Whether suspended from a pair of sculptural hoops or nestled into a textured pendant, each pearl we use carries its own quiet history.
How Pearls Are Made
Unlike most gemstones that are mined from the earth, Pearls are born within living organisms, oysters and molluscs that live beneath the waves. When a tiny irritant (like a grain of sand or a fragment of shell) finds its way inside the mollusc, it begins to protect itself in the most remarkable way.
Layer by layer, the mollusc coats the irritant in a substance called nacre also known as mother of pearl. This smooth, iridescent material builds up over time, sometimes taking years, until a Pearl is formed. Each one is unique in shape, colour, and character, shaped entirely by its environment and the time it takes to grow.
Beaver Island, Falklands
Where the wild feels untouched and time stands still
Some places leave a mark on you the kind that’s quiet, but lasting. For Alice, Beaver Island in the Falkland Islands is one of those places. Tucked away in the South Atlantic, Beaver Island is remote, raw, and rich with quiet wonder. With no roads, no shops. It’s a place where nature takes the lead and where inspiration seems to settle in without even trying.
Time Slows, Meaning Gathers
Alice ventured to Beaver Island back in early 2024. Deep in thought and completely off grid no WiFi, no phone signal it occurred to Alice just how many different kinds of love there are to celebrate. Not just romantic love, but love for friends, for nature, for stillness, for creativity. with close friends, and together Alice & Jo foraged for pearls in the ocean, gathering small treasures washed up by the tides. Which then were created pieces from what we found shapes, textures, colours all drawn directly from the land around us.
