From Yorkshire to New York – Alice Clarke Jewellery Shines at the Melee Show
This past week has been one for the memory books and the jewellery box.
Alice and Jo packed their suitcases (and a fair bit of Yorkshire magic) and headed across the Atlantic for the Melee Show in New York City, one of the most exciting events in the jewellery calendar.
We’ve been talking about this show all year, and for good reason. It’s a gathering of some of the world’s most innovative jewellers, gemstone specialists, and design visionaries and for our small Yorkshire based studio, it was a huge moment.
A Slice of Yorkshire in the Big Apple
Amid the buzz of NYC, our stand was a tiny window into the landscapes that inspire our work. Alice’s handcrafted designs draw heavily from the rugged limestone rock formations, ancient abbey ruins, and mystical beauty of Yorkshire’s countryside.
Our signature Relic Necklace, inspired by the soaring arches of Fountains Abbey, made its stateside debut alongside other new designs that marry natural textures with precious metals and ethically sourced gems.
Sustainably Crafted, Story Driven
We showcased not just jewellery, but stories. Every piece we create carries a sense of place , whether it’s the ripple of water translated into a gold band, or the texture of stone echoed in a pendant. We also champion sustainability, using recycled gold and responsibly sourced gemstones wherever possible.
Why This Trip Mattered
Attending the Melee Show wasn’t just about networking or showcasing our latest work, it was about showing that small, independent makers from rural corners of the world can make an impact on a global stage. It was about connection, inspiration, and bringing a bit of Yorkshire grit (and sparkle) to NYC.
What’s Next
Now that we’re back in the studio (albeit a little jet lagged), we’re full of new ideas, new contacts, and fresh inspiration for upcoming collections. If you couldn’t make it to NYC, don’t worry you can browse some of the designs we took with us right here on our website.
