We’re so excited to be returning to Melee the Show in New York this August with Alice Clarke Jewellery!

Right now, we’re busy bees in our little (but upgraded) Pateley Bridge studio, preparing for this year’s Melee attendance. You might not realise it, but getting ready for these shows takes a lot of planning - in fact, we’ve been working towards this trip for almost a year!

Last year was our first time attending, and what a whirlwind it was. We flew in all the way from the remote, windswept Falkland Islands, just the two of us, Alice and Jo - straight out of our puffer jackets and muddy boots and into the middle of a hot, buzzing, glamorous NYC summer. One minute we were waving to neighbours in the local supermarket (where everyone knows your name), and the next we were stepping out onto 5th Avenue and nearly lost each other in the first minute! The contrast couldn’t have been bigger, or more magical. It truly felt like stepping into a movie (Home Alone 2 style, for reference).

The show itself blew us away. We met so many incredible jewellers, shared stories, nerded out over tiny details and stones, and felt that rare thrill of connecting with people who get it, and who are just as fascinated as we are by the art, the craft(wo)manship, and the hard work that goes into making meaningful jewellery - all the behind-the-scenes stuff, that we LOVE. Coming from such a small and isolated place, we’ve really missed being part of a wider creative community and bonding with fellow colleagues from the world of jewellery. Meeting other jewellers (especially some we’ve been fangirling over for years) was incredibly inspiring. We left filled to the brim with ideas, admiration, and a spark that’s carried us through this past year.

Now, we’re gearing up for round two! This time we’re flying in from the UK, but we will still be bringing plenty of Falkland Islands-inspired ocean pieces with us, alongside exciting new designs and of course a bunch of our beloved classics. With last year’s experience in our back pocket, we’re heading back with a streamlined collection, a fresh display, and a suitcase full of excitement. We can’t wait to reconnect with galleries, stockists, and fellow jewellers - and of course, to spend three whole days immersed in the beautiful, sparkly world we love so much (not to mention the 12 o’clock mimosas)!
